Tom Callahan's diverse and accomplished career is a testament to his unwavering dedication and adaptability. His journey began in the demanding field of nuclear engineering, where he served his country as a US Navy Nuclear Engineer for six years. As technology advanced, so did Tom, embracing and self taught in the burgeoning world of personal computing in early 1984 and transitioning into an extraordinary career in software development. His passion for software development led him to found New Perspective Solutions, where he excelled as an independent expert software development consultant.
Tom's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to his craft allowed him to achieve success and perceived financial security, enabling him to retire early in 2018. Retirement, however, did not signify an end to his pursuits; instead, it marked a new chapter dedicated to his lifelong passions for sailing, adventure, and writing.
Tom's adventurous spirit and love for exploration have enriched his life, leading him to reside in fifty-four homes across twelve different states and travel extensively to twenty-seven countries worldwide. Now, living in the serene mountains of Western North Carolina with his wife Sandy, their loyal dogs Emmy, Bella Button, and their four cats Kiki Butt, Silly Lily, Huey, and Louie. Tom continues to pour his energy and dedication into his writing.
His experiences and insights have culminated in a series of books, including “BOOM - The Baby Boom Story - The Prequel, a narrative story that follows each decade from 1946 to 2025, illustrating the events and changes and identifying possible future effects caused by the Boomers. And "BOOM - The Baby Boom Echo Effects - The Sequel”, where he shares his analytical perspectives on the pending significant impacts of the Baby Boom generation.
